The Wildcard TDM400P family is a half-length PCI 2.2 compliant card that supports from one to four telephone interfaces for connecting analog telephones or analog lines to a PC. Using Digium's Asterisk PBX software and standard PC hardware, one can create a SOHO (Small Office Home Office) telephony environment that includes all the sophisticated features of a high-end business telephone system.
This product is a 1-port FXS (Interface for analog devices such as traditional telephones and fax machines) PCI Card, part of the Digium TDM400P Series of cards. It allows you to connect a single analog device such as a telephone, fax machine, or analog overhead paging device to an Asterisk or Trixbox server.
Although Asterisk is an "IP PBX", essentially a digital device, you can easily integrate traditional analog products by plugging them into an FXS resource port. This FXS port converts the analog signal from the connected device into the digital format of your IP PBX or SIP Application. You can add up to three additional TDM-FXS modules, populating your card to a total of four FXS ports, allowing expanded support of up to four analog phones or fax machines.
The TDM400P family takes the place of an expensive channel bank and brings the system price point to a low level. By using FXO and FXS modules with the TDM400P family, one can create a solution with support for a range of telephones. To scale this solution, simply add additional TDM400P family cards populated with modules.
The naming convention for the TDM bundles is as follows: TDM X Y B. Where "TDM" denotes that the card is TDM, "X" denotes the number of FXS modules, "Y" denotes the number of FXO modules, and "B" indicates that that this product is a bundle.
